12-Year-Old SAVES FARM ANIMALS, What Happens Next Is Shocking is the 106th episode of the 12th season of Dhar Mann. It aired on June 28, 2023.

Plot[]

It starts out in a farm where a rich girl is complaining about how she doesn't want to be there to her mother. She tries milking a cow, but the milk ends up on her Chanel handbag. She marches out, but on the way, steps in cow droppings. Her mother goes around it. Meanwhile, a girl named June is successfully milking a cow, with Kristen, a farm employee, calling her a natural. But June admitted that it was all the cow, Mrs. Milky. Even though that cow's name was Betsy, June and Kristen liked Mrs. Milky better. Kristen then let June roam the rest of the farm.

June asks her father, Corey, if she can come to the farm more, but due to the fact that each ticket is $50, and that money is tight at that moment, Corey doesn't know. He suggests next year, but June is still unhappy with it and wants to buy one of the animals because of how much she wants to be around them. Unfortunately, they need a whole farm for all of the animals, but then Corey says that they can get a dog. June replies that maybe they can get a farm someday. Corey nods, then sounds of goat bleats are heard by June, who wants to see the baby goats. Upon hearing this, June becomes very excited to name them, but then Lance, the farm owner, asks why they need a name. June spots a female goat and calls her Gertrude the Goat, which is instantly her new favorite animal. June evokes the question: if chickens are for eggs, cows are to milk, and horses to ride, what are goats for? Corey tries to answer, but Lance finishes and says that goats are for meat. June thinks that they wait until the goats pass away and then turn them into meat, but the truth is, Lance executes them and drains the blood. Apparently, it helps Lance make lots of money because it keeps the meat fresh. June clearly is not happy about this, but Corey suggests that they go look at the chickens instead. June refuses, wanting to know what happens to them. Lance then says that Gertrude is due to be executed in six weeks, but not her babies yet. June doesn't like this either, and brings up that babies need their mothers, but Lance says that it's his farm. If he pays the bills, he makes the decisions. June desperately asks Corey to buy one of the goats, but due to the fact that one goat is $500, and then again money is tight, Corey unfortunately cannot afford it and there is nowhere to put the goat. June is unhappy at this point, and runs away. Corey reminds Lance that June is only eight years old, but Lance claims that it's a fact of life and that everyone should learn sooner or later.

Later at dinner, June isn't eating her burger and fries because she cannot stop thinking about Gertrude. Unfortunately, it's just how things are, humans depend on animals for food. June then asks if her burger was made from cow, whether they waited for it to die or they killed it. Corey doesn't know, and in response, June pushes her plate away saying that she's not eating Betsy. Corey then tells June that it's not Betsy, but she doesn't want to eat animals. Corey asks June what else he wants him to make her, but June replies that baby goats need their mother just as much as June needs Corey, and is unable to imagine what life is like without him. Corey goes back to the farm and overhears a conversation between Lance and another employee about executing a sick cow and get money for its meat. The employee doesn't want to do that, as he walks away. Lance finishes by reminding him to feed them some more hormones to make them fat to skin them and sell them. Lance then sees Corey, and asks if he wants to buy a goat, but it is not what Corey is here for. Since June cannot stop thinking about Gertrude, Corey wants Lance to spare it because of how much it would mean to June. Lance refuses because Corey does not have the money, meaning that Gertrude is still on the chopping block, and then Lance just walks away.

Corey then walks away too, but Kristen notices him and asks where June is, since she recognized Corey's car and remembered how much June loved Gertrude, and gave him a goat stuffed animal. Corey is happy about this, and says that June hadn't left her room since the day before. June is devastated because of the fact that Gertrude is going to be executed in six weeks, and Kristen understands. Since she only makes $10 an hour, it would take ages to buy the place from Lance. If Kristen had the $250,000 to buy the farm, she would do that with no hesitation. Just as Corey is leaving, Kristen offers him some free passes that lasts six weeks.

When Corey arrives home, he shows June the goat stuffed animal and the free passes. June is very happy with what she just got, but then wishes the stuffed animal were a replica of Gertrude. Nevertheless, she is so happy with everything and is excited to see Gertrude. Then, a montage of June's best moments at the farm plays, involving animals, fun, and of course, Gertrude.

Four weeks later, June and Corey arrive at the farm with some carrots for Gertrude. Unfortunately, Kristen's demeanor changes, as she doesn't know how to phrase it. Corey brings up that the six weeks hasn't all gone by yet. Lance, being the greedy farmer that he is, decided to take Gertrude two weeks early. June knows exactly what is happening. She drops her carrots and runs into a barn, only to see another employee with Gertrude on a leash, and Lance, holding a gun pointed at Gertrude. June is desperately crying for Lance to not kill Gertrude. Corey, then again, begs Lance to spare Gertrude. Lance, once again, reminds Corey that if he doesn't have the money, Gertrude is gone. Corey, not knowing what to say, just begs and begs Lance not to pull the trigger, but Lance fails to listen and executes Gertrude on the spot. June is shocked, and simply runs away. Corey furiously confronts Lance for what he had just did right in front of June saying she’s just a little kid, and Lance claims that she should not have stepped foot in there to begin with. Also, the last free pass expired that day.

Back home, Corey comes into June's room with some food, but June doesn't want to eat, nor have Gertrude executed. She cannot believe what Lance had just done, knowing that Gertrude's babies are next. Corey clearly knows that June is upset, and that June has to eat something. June simply wants Corey to leave her alone. She starts crying and asks herself why everything she loves is taken away from her. Corey becomes increasingly upset about this. He takes out his phone and takes a look at his wallpaper when Corey's wife was still alive. He records a TikTok video explaining everything that happened, about the loss of June's mother and June's favorite thing ever, Gertrude. He wants to set up a GoFundMe to spare Gertrude's babies and save June from another heartbreak. He posts the video to wrap up the night.

The next day, Corey checks the video on TikTok and to his surprise, it's going viral. People across the globe are supporting him. He also checks the GoFundMe page and is well over the $2,000 goal. Instead, he made enough money to buy the farm in just 24 hours. So, he used it to buy the farm.

Corey and June pulled into the parking lot, but June does not want to be here. Corey wants June to trust him, since she will be glad that she came. Lance and Kristen are in an argument, with Lance stating that it's his cattle, so he decides what to do with it, and he can cut off the horns if he wants to. Kristen tells Lance to wait for the painkillers to kick in, because it was inhumane to do it this way, but Lance refuses to do so, because "they ain't no humans." Corey steps in on Kristen's side, also stating that Lance should do nothing to him. Lance is very annoyed at Corey and also tries to kick him out, but Corey hands him a $250,000 check to purchase the farm. Lance is confused, as before, Corey could not even afford a goat; Corey claims to have that much money because he has his ways. Enraged, Corey tells Lance to take it, but that he will not be able to enjoy it; Corey says when he told the story of June and Gertrude, not only did it catch attention from all around the world, but the ASPCA, or the American Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, were also notified. Just then, two police officers arrive, requesting to have a word with Lance, but he doesn't want to talk. Lance tries to run away, but trips and the officers catch him. Lance then furiously rants as he is arrested and taken away by the police. Corey now owns the farm, and tells Kristen that he wants her to run it, to which she gladly accepts.

Sometime later, June is giving a tour to another girl and her mother, showing the goats, one of which who just had babies. The girl is very happy to be around them; and wishes she can come all the time, and her mom says they can what's also very nice about the new ownership is that admission is completely free. Then, June brings up that one of the pigs just had babies, and needed the girl's help in naming them, who agreed without a second thought. The video ends with Corey saying that he's most likely going to lose track of all the names, which makes him and Kristen laugh.

Trivia[]

  • The episode has mostly received negative reviews from fans and viewers.

Allusions[]

  • June is named after June Cleaver from the sitcom Leave It to Beaver.

Errors[]

  • The title is misleading because June was actually 8 years old, not 12 years old.
  • If Corey made $212,000 on the GoFundMe, he'd be $38,000 short. But this could be that he received more money as he wrote the check.
