PLOT[]

Maggie never gets nice things. One example given --seen in the episode-- is where she is not able to buy lunch (lunch from the pizza line or the hot lunch line) because there is no lunch money on her lunch card. The lunch lady says to Maggie there is no money on her lunch card. Maggie, she is not able to buy lunch from the pizza or hot lunch line. The lunch lady says that she (Maggie) needs her mom to put money on her lunch card. So she takes Maggie's real lunch (which was a hot lunch) and forces Maggie to have a free lunch. (Maggie --in addition to the pizza from the pizza line-- sees the other school-served hot lunch choices. That is, including the extras --which includes chicken rings and fries-- and even the main zone. But knows that she is not allowed to have any of it until her mom puts lunch on her lunch card.)

After Maggie gags about her own lunch to Kelly, Kelly is hurt and leaves. And Emma accuses Maggie. (That is, as she --Emma-- says to Maggie, "THANK YOU VERY MUCH MAGGIE! NOW I HAVE NO ONE TO SIT WITH!".) After Emma accuses Maggie, she (Emma) runs away and catches up with Kelly. Well --as for Maggie-- the lunch lady says that she (Maggie) is not allowed to have one of their lunches from the pizza or hot lunch line. That is, until her mom puts money on her lunch card.

At home, Maggie accuses her mom for not putting money on her credit card for school lunch. (That is, as she says to her mom, "I am happy that you have money to buy lunch today! Because you Mom forgot to put money on my lunch card...! AGAIN!".) But her mom does not care. (That is, as she asks --in an annoyed manner-- "Why do you care?! They serve free lunch, don't they?!".) She (her mom) does not want any part of this. (She --Maggie's mom-- never puts money on Maggie's lunch card. That is, possibly because she --Maggie's mom-- thinks that if she puts money on Maggie's lunch card, Maggie may buy dessert or --from the school cafeteria's snack bar-- extra items beyond her main item. She does not want to waste money and put money on her daughter's lunch card, as she is worried that Maggie is going to go to the school cafeteria's snack bar and buy extra items. That is, whether it is pizza or hot lunch from the pizza or hot lunch line. And she gets mad because she --Maggie's mom-- finds these charges --including Maggie's extra items for lunch-- on her credit card order history.) She --her mom-- always makes Maggie stay away from the lunches (from the pizza and hot lunch lines) in school. That is why she never puts money on Maggie's lunch card and/or never gives her a lunch check. And she says that bologna or peanut butter and marshmallow stuff sandwiches are "good for her". If Maggie does not bring lunch from home --according to her mom's saying-- she can either bring her own lunch (a sack lunch) or use the school cafeteria's free lunches. Next, Maggie wants her mom to help her with her lines for the "Romeo and Juliet" school pageant. But her mom is fed up with her complaining. (That is, as her mother says, "It NEVER ends with you! Does it?! First you want lunch money! And now you want help!? DO I WORK IN YOUR SCHOOL!? NO! SO DO YOUR OWN THING!".)

Trivia[]

  • The "lunch scene" (seen where Maggie is forced to eat a free lunch until she gets money on her lunch card because she is out of lunch money) is similar to the "Dhar Mann" episode Poor Girl Shamed For Her School Lunch.
