Discord Rules

SECTION A | RULES AND REGULATIONS

In order to make this server, a safe haven for all of us, you shall meticulously follow the below listed rules.

1. Always obey the Discord ToS and Guidelines, and the Rules of The Dhar Mann Wiki
   • In order to be on our server, you must be at least 13 years old!

2. Please promote harmony and equality in every societal aspect
   • Deeper topics of race, religion, and culture should be avoided at all costs.
   • You can still talk about real life stuff fairly, and yes, there can be freedom of expression, but that doesn't mean you shall offend or disrespect anyone in our community!
3. Do not post or promote NSFW/Obscene/Adulterated content anywhere on this server.
   • This includes anything such as swearing, sending pornographic/adult content in forms of photos, videos or website links etc.
   • Having an inappropriate nickname or profile picture is also included and the server staff shall intervene if they deem them inappropriate.
   • Circumventing the profanity filters by using substitute words or asterisks or other such grawlixes is certainly not an option. If caught, the violator will be punished accordingly.
     Come on guys! This is a safe and friendly haven for all sakes!
4. Do not spam or advertise on the server.
   • Don't send a lot of short messages right after each other. Do not disrupt the chat by spamming or mentioning too many people.
   • Same applies for content other than text. If it’s a photo, resize as necessary. If it’s a video, resample it as necessary and so on.
   • Advertising for something else that’s off-topic or such should be kept at a minimum.
5. You shall not threaten or spy on fellow server members, or mini-mod the staff.
   • Again, swearing and racism is disallowed. No loop-holing (Ex: I am black so I can say racist remarks of my own) or circumventing the filters either.
   • No alt accounts will be allowed either. For those who try will fail right at the screening test at #discord-verification.
   • Threatening, impersonating or spying on other server members, sockpuppeting, trying to hack the server, or mini-modding the staff is absolutely intolerated and immediate action will be taken against the violators.
     We’re a community designed to be in harmony and unity, and not for the gain of nefarious deeds of others.
6. Please respect the opinions of others as much as you do yours, and deal with issues in a civil manner.
   • Never lean on to having a one-sided bias. Always respect others even if they're on the other side of the spectrum of thoughts.
   • All of us deserve freedom of speech, but please don't cross over our boundaries, harass or even incite fights among us.
   • If there’s an ongoing argument, it’s always good to stop arguing and let it cool down and sink in for a while, after which it can be dealt with, in a more civil and passive manner. If it still doesn’t settle, you can always call upon staff members to the rescue. (The procedure to contact staff is mentioned in Section C).
7. Please follow the Server’s Channel Guide and use the channels accordingly.
   • For the ease of all members of the server, a separate channel containing the Server’s Channel Guide has been created. Also, each channel is provided with a clear description of their purpose.
   • Please do not cross-talk between channels. (eg: Using bot commands in #general-day-talk, talking about IRL stuff in #wiki-related or #channel-related, are prohibited)
   • Also, please use the ticket system only under a serious situation. Don’t open unnecessary tickets. (Read Section C for more regarding the support ticket system).

SECTION B | THE PENAL CODE

If anyone should fail to follow the aforementioned rules, depending on the severity of the case, the staff has full rights to take action on that user in any one of the below-mentioned ways.

• Soft Warn ℹ️ : More of a soft reminder that the violator is slightly crossing the boundaries; Used for really mild cases like a heated argument, very mild swearing or advertising.
• Hard Warn ⚠️ : The actual/official warning from a moderator; For mildly offensive actions; Will be used 3-4 times before kick; Offenses include swearing, mild spamming, or excessive advertising.
• Kick ⚽ : Expulsion from the server; Used for moderate offenses like repetitive spamming, scamming, threatening fellow users, excessive swearing, using racial slurs, inciting fights among members, sending NSFW content etc.
• Temporary Ban ⏳⛔ : Temporary Exclusion from the server; Used for moderate-severe offenses such as excessive spamming, repetitive posting of NSFW content or swearing/racially slurring.
  Duration may vary depending on the severity of the case and the number of times the offense has been committed.
• Permanent Ban ⛔ : Permanent Exclusion from the server; Used for extreme cases of server raiding, sockpuppeting, loopholing of punishments/warns (such as by exiting the server right before the staff notices an offense), excessive spamming, repetitive posting of NSFW content or swearing/racially slurring

SECTION C | PROVISION OF SUPPORT

• The provision of a Ticket System has been introduced in this server, for those who face any issues while joining or while in the server, and the issues can be, but are not limited to:
  • Issues regarding joining, such as trouble verifying through @Double-Counter. Such issues will usually be solved for sure by the staff unless the user is an alt-account of another user, or has been guilty of being banned from the server for any of the above-mentioned violations (As per Section A and B).
  • Issues regarding a troublesome user (or bot), regardless of their designation and reputation. The staff always has full authority to take action against the violator, given that valid evidence is provided.
  • Suggestions regarding any improvements that can be done to the server. Again, the staff is always all ears for constructive comments and suggestions regarding the betterment of this server, such as adding new channels or bots as per needs.
  • Issues regarding a heated argument/war. Don’t worry about calling for help if a war or a heated argument is going on. Not even the staff is immune to this issue, and hence we will try our best to solve it. If it still doesn’t settle, the people who are found guilty of stirring up the argument will be dealt with accordingly.
• The Ticket System is an emergency measure for the ease of other users, and hence shall be used responsibly. Users who spam by creating too many tickets at the same time can even be banned by the staff.
