Creation and Alteration of Templates
- No creation of major templates from normal users unless approved by the council. If you’ve got a good idea, make a sandbox page for yourself (By creating the page User:<username>/Sandbox) and work on your templates there. Propose your idea to any staff member (preferably a Moderator) whenever you’re ready and one of us will pay a visit and consider for sure.
- Please don’t attempt to change the structure, or any major parts of a template unless approved by the council. Essential templates are locked by the council to preserve integrity and quality. Again, If you’ve got a good design idea, use your sandbox, or the template’s sandbox too.
Usage of Notice Templates
- The main purpose of a notice template is to notify the readers about the status of an article page.
- If you see a page that you can’t fill momentarily, please mark it as a stub using the {{Stub}} template, on top of the page. Trust us, it won’t take more than a minute to do this.
- Likewise, if you’re working on a page, please make sure to add the template {{WIP|editor=<your-username>}} on top of the page, so as to avoid edit conflicts, especially when many people are working on the same page.
- If you see a page that needs to be deleted, due to a valid reason (ex: Page created by a vandal (or) A page that’s no longer necessary…), please mark it for deletion using the template {{Delete|reason=<reason>}}. One of us staff members will look into it and take action if necessary.
- For instructions on how to use a template, please refer to the documentation given below it.
Usage of Link Templates
- The main purpose of link templates is to serve as icon links to Social Media Profiles of people.
- There are link templates for the following SNS websites:
- Website: {{WebsiteLink|<Full Link of the Website>}} (help)
- Facebook: {{FacebookLink|<Facebook ID>}} (help)
- Twitter: {{TwitterLink|<Twitter ID>}} (help)
- Instagram: {{InstagramLink|<Instagram ID>}} (help)
- TikTok: {{TikTokLink|<TikTok ID>}} (help)
- IMDb: {{IMDbLink|<IMDb ID>}} (help)
- YouTube Channel: {{YouTubeChannel|<Channel ID>}} (help)
- YouTube Video: {{YouTubeVideo|<11-character Video ID>}} (help)
- To know more about the Templates themselves, please click on the help link at the side.
- For SNS links other than the YouTube Video and IMDb links, all of them should be placed under the SNS field of DMActorInfobox
General Rules for Articles
- Do not make empty episode articles. Only create them when there is sufficient information.
- If the episode name is known, call it by the known episode name.
- Otherwise, don’t create the page.
- Vertical lines are to be interpreted as a colon for accessibility.
- It’s best not to create pages for characters, unless they’re very recursive. (eg: Mikey, Jayden, Mrs. Miller, Owen etc.)
- To make things easier, there are templates for creation of a page for an actor or an episode. It’s best to deviate less from the preloaded format, and make additional sections only if absolutely necessary. (eg: For Carl Judie, since he’s starred in a lot of other shows aside from Dhar Mann’s videos.). Also, please don’t remove the existing section titles, even if the section itself is gonna be left empty to be filled in the future.
- Character pages are usually named without surnames. Staff and talents usually go on a first name+surname format.
- You can move pages as and when necessary, like when an official episode name is known.
- Do not assume things without evidence. Make inferences based on solid facts and evidence.
- Please use simpler and more common words, to make it easier for others to read.
- (eg): Instead of “flummoxed”, you can use “confused” or even “perplexed”.
- Rumors, allegations and real-life controversies regarding the talents aren’t allowed in the wiki in any form (Discussions, Comments, Content in pages etc,). We are not privy to anything controversial that happens outside Dhar Mann Studios. The fandom is not a good place for it.
- You may dislike and hate a character, but do note that they may not be reflective of their respective actor/actresses, and may be actually completely the opposite in real life!
Formatting
- All articles must use standard American English by default, as the channel is based in the US.
- Examples can be seen with the usage of ‘organization’, ‘color’, ‘theater’, ‘canceling’ instead of ‘organisation’, ‘colour’, ‘theatre’, ‘cancelling’.
- Check the dictionary and run through a validator if you're not sure.
- Date must be represented in "Month DD, YYYY" format.
- eg: Sunday, April 20, 2022 instead of Sunday, 20 April 2022
- Time can be expressed as both 24h and 12h formats.
- eg. 13:45 and 1:45 pm are both accepted
- Dates and times should correspond to the PST (UTC-08:00)/PDT (UTC-07:00) time zones.
