PLOT[]

A gold digger named Renea is married to a doctor named Nathan and has a stepson named Jack, who has dreams of making it as a pro soccer player. A plane crash during a flight for a game leaves Jack paralyzed from the waist down but Nathan perishes from his injuries as a result of the crash. During his time in the hospital, he is befriended by a doctor named Brooke who also went to medical school with Nathan. As a result of Nathan's will, his estate and finances are left to Renea who soon after goes on a shopping spree and kicks Jack out of the house where he is placed in foster care (Nathan's butler also quits, not wanting to deal with Renea's cruel behavior.) Jack is initially left in the care of Freddie where he reunites surprisingly with his team mate, Aaron, who has a dislike for Jack due to him coming from a rich family. Aaron and the other foster kids cruelly reject Jack's soccer tips he tries to give out while practicing in the backyard due to his paralysis. Freddie takes Jack out to a doughnut shop to tell him that he can no longer take care of him due to the expenses of redesigning his home to be accessible to Jack while also telling him that Aaron is in the foster care system because his parents didn't want him. Brooke, going into the doughnut shop, decides to take Jack in as a foster child since her home is already able to accommodate him and it had been her dream to have children with her late husband.

In her home, Brooke helps to encourage Jack into going through with physical therapy to learn how to walk again and relates her story of how she was also told she wouldn't be able to walk again following the car crash that killed her husband and left her paralyzed but she was still able to overcome the odds. Over time, Jack is able to learn how to walk again and even begins practicing soccer again where he scores the game-winning goal for his team. Aaron, fed up with Jack's upstaging, challenges him to a one-on-one match where the bet is that the loser has to walk away from the team. In a close match, Jack ultimately wins after catching one of Aaron's kicks but decides to drop off the team anyways as he wants to become a doctor instead so he can help people, like Brooke and Nathan. Aaron apologizes for the way he treated Jack as he was jealous Jack had a dad who wanted him and that it wasn't fair to take out his pain from not being wanted onto him. Jack forgives Aaron, telling him that the team can be his family now.

Fifteen years later, Jack is a successful doctor who works to help patients in physical therapy. Brooke reunites with Jack, telling him that a woman is there in the office who can't afford treatment but says that she knows him. The woman is revealed to be Renea, who is using a walker to move around and he is surprised to see her. Renea says that she spent all of Nathan's money years ago so fast and says that it's okay if he doesn't want to help her after how awful she had been to him previously. Jack agrees to help her out with her treatment with Brooke saying that Nathan would be so proud of him.
