Plot[]
The video starts with Tara and Spencer waiting for their car to pick them up. Tara wonders where the Rolls Royce is because she saw that another influencer named Allison Day got picked up in a Rolls Royce and wants to have the same treatment as her.
The driver comes and asks them to get in the car, apologizing for being late but Tara notices that the car is a Porsche and not a Rolls Royce, to which she complains about. The driver apologizes and tries to load their bags in the car, but she says that she needs a Rolls Royce because she thinks if Allison Day gets to ride in a Rolls Royce, then she should be able to ride in one too. Spencer stops her and tries to comfort her and tries to show her the car, but she doesn’t want to, but Spencer shows that they have vodka, which makes her finally get in. Spencer tries to show Tara all of the beautiful things about the trip, but she only complains more.
They arrive at the house and they start recording to post to their stories, but as soon as Tara starts, Spencer comes and tells her to check out the bedroom. When they see the bedroom, she sees gifts on the bed, but instead of being happy, she is annoyed and says that’s it. Spencer tries to comfort her again, but Tara complains that Allison Day got a dozen roses and she only got six and they gave Allison Dom P and Tara only got Moët, and she says that she can’t eat chocolate. Spencer tries to show her that they are treating her nicely, but Tara ignores it and says they are not treating her right and expects to have the same treatment as Allison Day. Spencer wants Tara to record the gifts for her story, but she says no and wants to put them on blast because she thinks she is not being treated nice at all. Spencer tells her to calm down and tells her that “Fame is fleeting” and to never forget where she came from. She then says that she is going to Beverly Hills to find a dress for the party, but Spencer stays behind, so Tara leaves on her own, taking the champagne bottle with her, with Spencer telling her that he thought that the Moët wasn’t good enough, but she says it’ll do and leaves.
Tara and Spencer arrive at the party and Tara enters (looking very drunk) asking anyone her for her. Spencer brings the drinks and Tara almost instantly drinks it. She then shows Spencer the stuff she bought and he asks how much it costed and she says $5000, which shocks Spencer. Tara says that it is not a big deal and thinks that she can pay off her debt with one sponsor. A person taps her shoulder and compliments her dress and Tara recognizes her name as “Make up Genie” (to which Tara mispronounces the name). Genie asks Tara if they can collaborate some time and Tara says yes and the influencer leaves. Spencer is happy for her but Tara says that it is not a good thing and thinks that all the older beauty influencers will be gone and says that she will usurp Allison Day. Tara then sees gift bags and asks the person for one and the person asks for Tara’s name, but Tara says “Takeup By Mara", before immediately correcting herself as “Makeup By Tara”. The person gives her the bag and when Tara opens it and she gets disappointed because she got a Gucci bag and wanted a Chanel bag, which was the bag that Allison Day got. Tara goes to leave but Spencer stops her and tells her that if she doesn’t want it, he’ll take it, but she says that she is tired of beauty companies supposedly mistreating her, before proceeding to take a person’s drink and drinking it before storming off. Spencer tries to tell her to stay professional, but she is clearly drunk because she drank the entire bottle of the Moët in the house. The owners of A&B beauty, Sam and Cathy come and greet Tara, to which she burps at them and they both ask her if she having a good time, but right when Tara is about to say no, Spencer says that they are having a great time. Allison Day comes and greets Tara and Allison shows them the new bag she got and Tara complains about the Gucci bag, but Sam and Cathy show that they watched all of Tara’s livestreams and saw that she loves Gucci, but Tara says that she loves Chanel more than Gucci. Tara also complains about the roses because all the other influencers got a dozen roses while she only got six. She also complains about the champagne and the Rolls Royce, but Allison Day reveals that the company didn’t send her the Rolls Royce and that is Sam’s car and they just picked her up and they leave. Tara tries to confront Sam and Cathy. Tara leaves with her telling Sam and Cathy that she is putting their brand on blast and leaves. Spencer tries to stop her, but she ignores him and he apologizes to Sam and Cathy about Tara’s behavior and leaves.
Spencer follows Tara outside and tries to stop her, but she explains to him that the company is trying to make her look bad and starts recording, trying to tell her fans not to buy any products from A&B Beauty. Spencer tries to stop her asking if she is certain that she wants to post it, but she arrogantly insists that it is the truth. A man walks by and notices Tara and introduces himself as Bob, a manager who represents the biggest influencers out there and he offers her a deal to make her some money and he leaves. Tara then tells Spencer that she can do what she wants but Spencer tells her that nobody is happier than himself for Tara's success but he urges her to be more humble and not forget where she came from, but she doesn’t listen and threatens to drop him, but then she falls down herself. Spencer confusingly asks her what she means and Tara tells him that he is only there because of her, but Spencer tells her the he is her friend and has no interest in the followers or money, but Tara reminds him again that he is only there because of her and to be grateful and threatens him to not pay him and go to work a 5 to 9 job (actually 9 to 5) and as she leaves for her Uber Black to arrive, Tara continues to tell her fans to not to purchase products or follow A&B Beauty.
Tara proceeds to upload more content and the fame gets to her head. This resulted in her main concern being the followers she is getting. She does collabs with other influencers and starts upgrading her lifestyle more and spending more money. But her attitude changes as the fame gets to her.
The company is wondering where Tara is, due to her being late, then she comes, appearing very drunk and wobbly. Spencer tries to ask her where she was and points out that she missed her lab appointment prior, but she says she was getting ready and Spencer smells the alcohol from her breath, but she says that it is a celebration for hitting 1 million followers. He tries to ask her if she ate anything, but she says no because it is a photoshoot and tries to drink from her flask, but Spencer stops her, but Tara walks off. She goes to pose for the photo, but she sees other models in the photo, she gets mad and only wants it to be about her. The woman tries to tell her that the company said they were doing group photos, but she says she doesn’t care and says that it is all about her (with her mispronouncing it’s) and storms off wanting gluten free crackers (with her mispronouncing gluten as glutton). Much to the photographer's irritation, she calls Tara’s manager, Bob. He then comes to confront Tara about the incident. Bob tries to ask her why is she not doing the shoot, but Tara says that they are not treating her right, but Bob says that was the same thing she said about the previous deals earlier and Bob tries get her to do the shoot, but she doesn’t listen and tells him about all the companies that want to work with her and she proceeds to mispronounce her name again as “Takeup By Mara” instead of “Makeup by Tara”, Bob tells her that he has seen the same thing happen with beauty influencers, but she yells at him and tells him the he is lucky that she even gave him a deal in the first place. Bob tells her good luck in any future endeavors and walks out. Tara angrily shouts that she is no longer doing the photoshoot and tries to call for Spencer, but they tell her he already left and Tara leaves.
Tara abandons the photoshoot and continues to let the fame get to her head, resulting in her big ego and constant drinking making her go even more into the deep end. Her personality gets worse and starts to insult multiple different beauty brands to her fans as the media slowly gets out word about her personality, but Tara ignores it and continues to act the same way. All of the beauty brands leave her and her manager severs ties with her, but Tara doesn’t care and threatens him to expose him too. Along with that, her income is quickly disappearing and she continuously spends money irresponsibly, thus putting herself in deeper debt financially. Before long, she also badmouths the people who made her famous in the first place.
Tara is on the couch with a glass of wine in her hand and reads comments from her fans and they ask her when she will stop drinking or what it’s like being canceled, but Tara is offended by it and calls them trolls and idiots, which makes them leave, despite Tara telling them not to, but when they do, she doesn’t care. Spencer comes in and asks Tara if that is her second glass of the day, she says that it is her third glass, despite it not being noon, but Tara says that she can do whatever she wants because she has a million followers, but Spencer shows her that she no longer has a million followers anymore, due to people unfollowing her because of her hateful comments on her past livestream from the previous week. Spencer asks Tara when was the last time that she paid off her credit card debt and rent, but Tara dismisses it and tells him that she got a cheque from All Star Beauty came and wants Spencer to deposit it, but Spencer tells her that it's a termination letter instead. Tara gets her phone and records to her fans about All Star Beauty and about how she wants to boycott them, but Spencer takes her phone and she tries to get it back, but Spencer tells her that she is drunk with fame and is no longer famous, but Tara only responds to tell him that if he wasn’t being paid, he would be working in a convenience store, but he tells her that she hasn’t paid him in months due to all of Tara’s cheques bouncing and tells her that she worked in the same store with him. Tara asks what he is doing there, but Spencer says that he cares for her, or rather used to care and proceeds to leave Tara and allows her to expose him. Tara tries to stop him, but she encounters the landlord, who shows her three eviction notices and tells her to pick a color to which she chooses pink, which prompts the landlord to sarcastically say that it matches her outfit before telling her to be out in a week. While adding insult to injury, she then sassily tells Tara that she unfollowed her before leaving, much to her dismay.
A few months later, Tara and Spencer are working at the convenience store and a lady recognizes Tara. Tara tells the lady that she took a little break from social media and didn’t like the person she became. Tara then explains that a wise person said to “Never forget where you came from”. The video ends with the lady asking for gum and she rings her up.
Moral[]
Fame is fleeting, so you should be humble and never forget where you came from.
