The Boys Go To War is the first episode of the Jay and Mikey series.
Synopsis[]
Jay gets into a fight with Mikey and Noah about Matt using Jay for Tiffany.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Jay, Mikey, and Noah playing basketball, but getting stopped by Matt and his friends. They tell him they need the court and Jay says if they want, they could do 3 on 3, and he shows them his moves, but Matt says he doesn't want to play with middle schoolers and Jay gives them the court. Then one of Matt's friends, Lukas says to Matt it's Tiffany and Mikey says it is and he drops his ball. Noah says he has no chance. Jay explains to him that he and Mikey will walk her home later, but on the way, they'll go to the arcade. Matt then asks Jay if Tiffany is his cousin and Jay says yes and asks how he knows her and Matt says he knew her when he and his friends were freshmen and she was a senior. Matt then invites him to play basketball with him and his friends. Mikey tries to stop him, but Jay doesn't listen and says he'll just play one game and then after that, he'll ask them if Mikey and Noah can play with them, too. Mikey says he and Noah don't want to play with them and leaves with Tiffany.
Later at the arcade, Jay beats Mikey at a game and he demands a rematch. Tiffany says to Mikey fine, but that after that, she has to drop them off at home so she can study for her chem exam. Mikey then lies that he's good at chem and could help her and Jay says he's not because he cheated on all the chem exams all year long and still got a D in that class and tells him to stop being weird. Matt then shows up and they do their secret handshake. Tiffany then asks Jay if they know each other and Jay says yes and says they're like best friends. Mikey says he disgusts him and Jay beats him again. Tiffany then tells that they have to leave now if they still want to eat before they get home. Matt says they're leaving already, and Jay tells him that they're getting some food, but that he can come along if he wants. Tiffany refuses because Matt probably has a lot going on, but he says he's free now. Mikey then asks Jay why he's inviting him and Jay says he's his other friend and that's why. Noah then asks if he's really his friend and says he probably has other motives. Jay doesn't listen, but Mikey tries to explain that he's using him to get to Tiffany, but Jay thinks he's lying, so Noah tries to warn him by telling him the moral of the episode.
Tiffany then asks if they can go now and Jay says yeah and that they could go to In-N-Out and Tiffany says ok. Jay and Mikey tell him they're going to Chick-Fil-A. Jay doesn't hear them, and tries to ask where they're going, but they leave. Tiffany asks if he's ok, and Jay says that he thinks so. Matt says to Tiffany he can still hang out with them and asks them what she says, and she says ok.
On the next day, we see Mikey and Noah playing basketball at Bookside School. They then see Jay come, who asks why they didn't hit him up, and Mikey asks the same thing. Noah says they figured they were hanging out with his new friends, Jay says they're gonna come in a minute, and Mikey and Noah he's really changed. Because of this, Noah tells Mikey he doesn't know what he sees in Matt and his friends and Mikey agrees because he can't believe he chooses them over his best friends and because he's known Jay since third grade. We then see the back of the school open and see Matt and his friends, Lukas and Theodore come out of it. Mikey and Noah decide to listen to what they're saying. Lukas asks Matt how long they have to keep on hanging out with Jay and then Theodore says he doesn't want to hang out with him anymore because it's a bad look. Matt says that he gets it, but that it's just for a little longer and that he has to keep him around until he can get Tiffany and then after that, they'll ditch him. Lukas then calms down.
Mikey then tells them he just heard everything they just said. Angered, Matt tries to stop him, but Mikey interrupts him and says that he's still gonna tell Jay. He then tells them to come back and they run after them. Mikey and Noah run to Jay and Mikey tries to tell him, but Jay thinks they're talking about his glasses, but Mikey refuses, so Jay sighs and takes them off and Mikey then decides to put them back on his head for him and tells them they do look dumb on him. Mikey then tries to tell what Matt and his friends said, but Noah interrupts and tells him what they said. Jay then refuses, but then laughs and thinks he's lying and Mikey tries to tell him, but when Matt comes, and because of his lies about what Mikey was gonna actually say, he doesn't believe him. Mikey then says that he's lying and that Jay is not better at basketball than him and that he's 50 times better than him. Jay tells him to stop lying. Noah then tells them to stop fighting and that they shouldn't be doing that because they're friends. However, Matt then says there's only one way to settle this: For Jay and Mikey to have a one-v-one and that the losers have to get off the court and that first one to three wins and then, they'll be able to decide who is better, Jay or Mikey. Noah tells Mikey to not do it, but he doesn't listen. Mikey gets 2 shots, but then Jay tries to distract him and gets 3 shots, but accidentally hurts Mikey with the ball. Matt then says that Jay wins by forfeit. Jay then tries to ask Mikey if he's okay, but he says to leave him alone and that he took it too far and tells Noah that they should go home now. Matt then laughs and then tells him they'll now take him under his wing. Jay asks if he's telling the truth and Matt says he is. Matt then tells him to do him a favor and to hit up his cousin for him, so that way, it won't seem weird that he's hanging out with them. Jay then says that's good thinking and that he'll text her.
We then see a montage of Jay, Tiffany, and Matt spending time together at a movie theater, at a ice-cream shop, at the basketball court (where Matt shows her how to get a basketball into the hoop), and at a diner where Matt tells Tiffany that he loves Harry Styles and Tiffany says that she does, too, so Matt says that he's gonna be at the Staples store. Afterwards, Jay then takes out his straws from his smoothie and puts them in his nose and claps and asks them what he is and does a sea lion sound. Tiffany chuckles and says he's too funny and asks Matt if he is. Matt lies and says he is and then asks Jay to see if Harry Styles is on that jukebox over there. Jay says that it depends and asks if he can keep the change and Tiffany tries to tell him not to, but Matt interrupts and says he can and to take his time. After Jay goes, Tiffany tells him it's really sweet how he treats him and that he looks at him like his older brother and if there's any way she can return the favor. As a result, Matt says there is and tries to kiss her, but Tiffany notices and asks him what he's doing and Matt says he's returning the favor and Tiffany says they're just friends and this angers Matt and reveals everything to Jay when he gets back from the jukebox. At this, Tiffany says to Jay that she's so sorry and asks if he's okay and he tells Tiffany that Mikey and Noah were right about Matt just using him and slams his head on their table.
We then see Mikey and Noah playing a Fifa Basketball game at Mikey's apartment and see Mikey beat Noah at it. Noah says he sucks at this game and that he liked it better when Jay played this game with them. They then hear a knock on Mikey's apartment door. They see it's Jay and Mikey asks what he wants and Jay asks if it's cool if he comes and Mikey says to be his guest. Jay says he got the next game and that he's sorry and that Matt was just using him to get to Tiffany and that he just got caught up trying to hang with him and his friends. He also tries to say he was a bad friend and Noah interrupts him and asks if he's trying to say jerk and Michael says he was a total and complete butt head. Jason says he was gonna say bad friend, but that he guesses he deserves being called all that. Michael asks if he really thinks that. Jason then says to Michael that the truth is he now sees that if someone's trying to be friends with me just because they want something, then they're not friends at all and apologizes and asks if they can be friends again. Michael says that he has one condition, to get payback from Matthew and his friends because nobody messes with his best friend and Jason agrees.
On the next day, the boys and Noah play basketball with Matthew and his friends to try and get their court back and the boys win all because of Noah putting the basketball into the hoop for a winning shot. During this, Tiffany applauding them for their shots and Michael tries to get her to hang out with him by asking her if she saw his shots and she says no, but that she saw his brick, which makes Noah laugh. Tiffany then tells Noah that she did see his winning shot and Noah thanks her and asks him if he wants to get some milkshakes to celebrate and Noah agrees, because they all know who the best is and Michael tells him to watch out. Noah then tells Tiffany that he got an A+ in science and that he heard she needed some help in chem and Tiffany agrees to let him help her study. Then, Michael says that he now has to worry about Noah taking his girl. Jay then says she'll never be his girl and to get that through his head.
