Plot[]
The video starts with a kid named Jared developing a new Roblox game. After several hours, Jared’s mom calls him to get off the computer after spending too much time. He asks his mom for more Robux but the mom says no because of not having enough money to afford another subscription. She lets Jared finish his game until dinner is ready or whatever comes first.
Then we switch to Jared’s brother Ethan, who is playing Minecraft on the Xbox and his mom complains that why do they want to be inside all day and tries to get Ethan to go outside, but he says no and wants to keep playing. When she is about to leave, Ethan wants to buy a Minecraft realm subscription but she says no because they can’t afford another one and may have to cancel one but Ethan begs but she still says no and gives him 1 hour to finish.
Their sister, Kylie, is currently testing video games for other people and did that for the entire day as well. Angered, the mom tries to use the cooking spatula to peel the eyes off (even though it was a joke). When dinner is ready, she calls for them, but only Kylie comes and is still on the tablet, which Kathy angrily demands the tablet. She then yells at Ethan to get off, but Ethan wants more time but she says no. Ethan comes but Jared is not there. She goes to his room and calls him again and he said he had headphones on and he begs to eat in his room, but she refuses and tells him to go to dinner but Jared puts back on his headphones and ignored her. Angered more by this, Kathy takes Jared’s computer, which angers him because he thinks that the map didn’t save to which she replies “I don’t care! Now come down to dinner!” and orders him to go down to dinner is having cold cuts and cheese on this plate. When she returns, she sees Kylie on her tablet again and takes it away again and sees that Ethan is on the tv and takes his controller away. They all want her to give it back but she says that she is taking them away until school is over because of all the money they wasted over video games and the subscriptions and cuts them off. "Now we're going to sit down and have a nice family dinner together!" she replied with cold cuts and cheese on this plate and a salad and we're all sit at the table with a bottle of mustard & mayonnaise. Lewis comes home and is surprised because nobody said anything and when the kids tell him to help them, he refuses thinking they can survive one meal without them, but Kathy states that it is going to be longer. The kids are so frustrated, they end up leaving to their room.
The parents are about to go to bed and they learn that their mortgage is rising again and his meeting did not go well because all he got was more work to do. They have no choice to cancel their trip to Hawaii due to them barely getting by with all the payments they have. Lewis proposes to Kathy that video games can make the kids be better, but Kathy disagrees with it saying that it is a waste of time and tells him to go to bed.
During school, Ethan plays Minecraft on the teachers computer and as he is playing, a teacher finds him playing and orders him to close it. His friend Sam tells him about the tournament in Minecraft and the winner gets 500 bucks and Ethan wants to enter it. Outside of the school. Kylie and her friend are watching a show and her friend lets Kylie borrow her tablet to check her messages is discord. When Kathy comes, she gets angry that she sees that tablet and demands that she give it back and apologizes to their mother but the mother says that her friend is doing great in school. Kylie tries to prove to Kathy that video games are good but she disagrees. When Ethan and Jared try to tell Kathy about the Minecraft tournament, she cuts them off, not wanting to hear about video games and tells them to go home.
Back at home, Kathy tries to explain that it is more peaceful without electronics but the kids say it is quiet and boring and they don’t want pasta and want to go out to eat but she says it is too expensive. The kids want to play some music, but are not able to but Kathy doesn’t want to hear about it and Ethan continues to ask about getting in the tournament, but she still refuses. This leads to a big argument between everyone and when Lewis gets home, he interrupts them asking to come home to a family without argument. Ethan tries to tell Lewis that he wants to enter the tournament but Kathy thinks that Lewis won’t go around her, but he surprisingly does, wanting to give Ethan a chance and makes a deal with Kathy. If Ethan wins, the kids get their electronics back and if he loses, no more devices until school is over. They all agree.
In the tournament, Ethan is right in the top 3 near the end and has a slight chance of winning but Kylie reminds him to place the mob spawner under the trapdoor and he does it with mere seconds left and the judge says it was the best map in any competition and Ethan wins and the kids get their electronics back.
In a couple years they all go off to college and develop games and then they surprise their parents by visiting them in August. After large gaming companies buy their games for so much they pay off, their parents' mortgage, cars, and take them to Hawaii because they waited so long and the kids come with them. The mom also apologizes for discouraging their dreams and taking away gaming all those years ago. They all have the experience of their lives in Hawaii.

- When Jared is away from the keyboard when Kathy unplugged it, the screen shows that is still moving.
- Out the window, at dinnertime (both times), it is still broad daylight. It could be that the sun sets late and/or the Mom cooked dinner early.
- Dinner was cold cuts ad and cheese with a bottle of mustard and mayonnaise.
