Plot[]

The Competition Idea[]

The episode starts with 2 girls known as Zara and Sloane sitting at their table as Sloane admires Zara's new dress for a school competition and thinks that she can't ever make dresses as good as she does. Zara then convinces her that her dresses are great either way, just then a mean girl known as Libby shows up and grabs Zara's book and insults her idea by calling it "hideous" in front of her. Sloane defends Zara by saying that she won the competition the previous 3 years in a row. Libby then storms off after claiming that she'll win the $4,000 prize that 1st place will receive in the competition. Sloane tells Zara that Libby just wants to intimidate her and she has financial aid problems. Zara feels bad for her at first and then says the moral of the story. The teacher comes in and informs Zara that her materials needed for her dress have been delivered to the school in her office. Zara asks Sloane if she also wants to see it for herself. She then says that she'll quickly get something from her locker and check it later on. Zara then leaves the room to get her dress.

Stolen Sketchbook[]

Suddenly, when Zara returned to the same room, her sketchbook wasn't on the table anymore. She asks a couple other students who turn out to be unsure on what happened. Afterwards, Sloane comes in and speculates that Libby may have stolen it from her because she was jealous of her designs. Zara questions whether or not she did it and has it memorized in her brain. Sloane warns her that Libby could steal the design and she says that the fabric creates the whole dress. Zara then tells her that she'll showcase it in class.

The Classroom and Stolen Shears[]

In the classroom, Zara shows off the fabric she needs for the dress which impresses Sloane but Libby responds by calling it awful. Sloane asks what her problem is and Libby tries to get Zara to give up immediately in the competition Zara asks her to leave her alone but Libby says that everyone will do so when they see her dress. Afterwards, Zara realizes that her shears are also stolen from her. She describes them by saying that they are her new pink shears which Sloane claims to have not seen. The teacher comes in and asks if everything is okay or not. She asks the class if anyone has any spare shears for Zara to use instead. Everyone said that they didn't. Libby then insults Zara by failing her preparation despite it not being Zara's fault. Sloane notices the shears that Libby is using and Zara tries to get her shears back. Libby commands Zara that she has to make her do it. Zara goes to tell the teacher but Libby bullies her by saying that she can't fight her battles alone. However, Zara suddenly doesn't care about it afterwards and Libby was allowed to keep them for the time being. Sloane tells her that she shouldn't have let her take her stuff away but Zara tells her that she'll focus on herself from now on.

Dress Ruined[]

In the Cafeteria, Zara and Sloane quickly talk but the teacher comes in with some horrible news for Zara. She found out that someone ruined her fabric by spilling black dye on it. Zara ends up crying because of this and Sloane asks what happened to it. The teacher isn't sure how this happened but offers Zara a lot of other fabrics she can choose from but Zara mentions that the ruined fabric was meant to make the whole dress. The teacher tells Zara to not hesitate if she needs any further help with anything.

Giving Up[]

Sloane gets the feeling that Libby may have also done this. Her assumption gets validated when she is seen with a bottle of dye with the same type of dye on the ruined fabric. Sloane plans to get revenge on Libby but Zara tells her that there is no evidence that Libby did all the sabotages so she decides to give up in the competition but Sloane tries to convince her not to do so. She offers to sacrifice her chances of winning by wanting to give Zara her fabric but Zara declines and asks her to promise one thing: Try and beat Libby in the competition, which Sloane accepts and tries to comfort her until Zara decides to return home and Sloane asks her to text her.

The Final Dresses[]

At the competition result area, the teacher mentions that the time has just about run out and Libby mentions that Zara had "technical difficulties" which Sloane mentions that she did it and that she won't win. Just then, Zara suddenly comes in and apologises about being late but managed to finish off her dress. Sloane questions how come she did it but she managed to find a quick way to work with her design. The unnamed students get impressed by it but Libby says that she shouldn't enter because she was late, but she was actually just on time and hangs up her dress. Everyone but Sloane and Zara leave the place.

Competition near Conclusion[]

Sloane asks Zara why she didn't tell her about finishing her dress on time and Zara says that she wanted it to be a surprise. Sloane shows some more gratitude as Zara mentions that she wasn't gonna let Libby win the competition despite knowing about her financial aid problems. Sloane says that no-one else stands a chance against Zara which Zara seems to question but is finally prepared to wait for the result. Zara and Sloane both feel like going to get lunch during the wait but Sloane says that she wants to quickly use the restroom first and then they will meet at the lockers. They both then leave their dresses.

The Confrontation[]

At the lockers, Zara sees Libby walking across the hallway and sarcastically apologizes to her because the sabotages didn't stop her from competing further. Libby gets confused by this and Zara says that she tried to ruins the dress to win. Libby says that she wants Zara to lose but she isn't that desperate. Zara asks for the sketchbook but Libby says that she didn't take it which Zara doesn't believe but Libby says that she took a Math exam afterwards which was confirmed true by one of her classmates. Zara then questions about where her shears are and Libby grabs out her pink shears. Libby reveals that they actually are hers due to her grandmother engraving them. This makes Zara confused and she thinks that she lost them but then asks about the dye on her fabric. Libby gets freaked out by hearing it, but after Zara mentions that she had the same dye, Libby shows that she never used the dye, though she intended to use it for her dress at first. She mentions that she and Zara were former friends in the past before Zara got Sloane as a new BFF. Libby admits that she wanted Zara to lose the competition so she would win and that she needs the prize money to fix her personal problems but she wasn't the one who sabotaged Zara dress or stole her stuff. Zara then gets very confused and doesn't understand what could have happened at all. Suddenly, the teacher shows up to Zara and hands her back the stolen shears which Zara reveals were hers and questions how she found them and where. The teacher then mentions that she should go with her. Zara then leaves Libby behind.

Surprise Betrayal[]

The teacher takes Zara to the principal's office only for her to see Sloane inside the room. Zara gets confused and upset after realizing that Sloane was the one who sabotaged all her work. The teacher then shows that Zara stuff and the dye was hanging out of Sloane's backpack. Zara gets confused why Sloane did all this and Sloane rudely claims that Zara knows why she did it and all mentions that being a best friend isn't enough for her. She was getting annoyed by Zara getting all the popularity and wanted the spotlight for herself at least once. Zara gets upset at this and Sloane mentioned how else could she have won. The teacher then feels bad for Zara and gives her stuff back. She also says that Sloane will be punished for her actions and Zara leaves in sadness.

The Final Result and Competition Aftermath[]

At the cafeteria, the teacher reveals that Zara won the competition once again for the 4th year in a row, but Zara isn't excited at all. The teacher said that Sloane got what she deserved and mentions that she could find a good way to use the money. Libby comes in and Zara welcomes her back. Libby says that she isn't surprised that Zara won but Zara decides to give her the money instead. Libby at first hesitates at taking her money but Zara says she needs it more than her and says that she indirectly helped her with the competition. Zara says that she only continued competing in the dress competition because she wanted to beat Libby because she thought she sabotaged Zara's work and said that she helped her out in some weird way. Libby then asks Zara if she is sure with her decision and Zara agrees. Libby thanks Zara for helping out in fixing her personal problems and asks if she ever found her real saboteur which Zara mentions that Sloane was the one who did it. Libby feels surprised at this but then mentions the moral of this story before they both reconcile and become friends again. Libby mentions that there will be a condition. When Zara becomes the next IT designer and embraces the covers on vogue magazine, Libby should be the assistant. When Zara sarcastically thinks that she shouldn't have a chance, Libby mentions that it could also be the other way around. They then sit at a table and return to their normal friendship.
