PLOT[]

Rachel needs to pass her test and get an "A" (or at least a "B") so her dad will let her go to space camp. A student named Colin offers her to test answers by selling them. Rachel doesn't do it and she passes the test on her own.

The scene now takes place at the end of the math test finals. Mrs. McKenzie has the class gathered after the test. (This occurs after the class turn in their math quizzes.) Then she says that lately, one of the students have been cheating on math quizzes (from the past). So for today's math quiz --which is the finals one-- she says to them that she made a fake answer key (hoping one of them would take the bait). And the fake answer key has the wrong answers. (The teacher --who did make an answer key with the correct answers-- took the answer key --with the correct answers-- and hid it. Then she replaced the answer key --which had the correct answers-- with the one that had the incorrect answers.) That is, hoping one of the students would take the bait. And if anyone used the answer key in any way, they would end up getting the answer key with the incorrect answers. (And she continues, "So after a review of the test, I see that someone is cheating".)

Well, Colin was the one to take the blame. Mrs. McKenzie chews out Colin. And she asks him if he can explain it. (That is, as Mrs. McKenzie turns to him --Colin-- and asks, "Colin? Do you have anything to say?".) Colin says "No". Mrs. McKenzie informs him that he got all the answers wrong on his math test finals. (That is, as she --Mrs. McKenzie-- says, "You answered all the math problems on your test wrong! It is very obvious for a straight 'A' student! And your answers, they corresponded to the answers on the fake test! So I think you have some explaining to do!".) And she sends Colin to the principal's office. (That is, as she next says, "Go see the principal!".) Colin goes to the principal's office.

After the period class of math is over, Mrs. McKenzie talks to Rachel. And she says to Rachel that she (Rachel) needs to stay after school to have a private conversation about her test. (That is, as she --Mrs. McKenzie-- turns to Rachel and says to her --Rachel-- "And Rachel? I need to see you after school and talk to you about your test also".)

Mrs. McKenzie connects the dots (she puts two and two together between these two students --Colin and Rachel-- regarding with the fake answer key). But she is unaware that Rachel also cheated on the test too. When Rachel sees Mrs. McKenzie after school, Mrs. McKenzie congratulates her. Mrs. McKenzie is still unaware that Rachel cheated on the test too. (Rachel sees Mrs. McKenzie. And she asks her --Mrs. McKenzie-- "What? Is there a problem Mrs. McKenzie?". Mrs. McKenzie smiles and says, "No. Not at all". Then she says, "I just want to congratulate you. Best work this semester. I can tell you have really put in the work. Great job".)

As a result, Rachel got a perfect score (on her math finals test) without cheating. And now she gets to go to Space Camp. When Rachel sees that her principal and math teacher --Mrs. McKenzie-- do not do further investigation (after she cheated on the math finals), this buys her some time to escape her summer school status. (That is, so she can go to Space Camp.) However, Mrs. McKenzie (her math teacher) and the principal do not know that she cheated too. And Rachel does make it to Space Camp. Colin is forced to take summer school (though not heard offscreen). And in the summer, he is forced to take summer school for the rest of July (the whole month of July). That is, while his eighth grade friends (including Rachel) go to Space Camp. Rachel (on the other hand) receives her freedom and joins her friends at Space Camp.
