Plot[]

Chris is sleeping in class until Ms. Brownell comes to his desk and slams his book on it to wake him up. After claiming he was only resting his eyes, Ms. Brownell orders him to answer a question on the board "Who does Lydia Bennet marry?". Chris is confused and does not know, asking if the name starts with a W. Ms. Brownell tells him that he would know the answer if he didn't slack off by playing video games, and Chris tells her that books aren't about assuming people. The entire class oohs until Ms. Brownell shushes them down. She then calls out Arthur to answer the question, and he answers "Mr. Wickham". After finding out it's correct, a classmate calls him a nerd and everyone starts laughing.

As Ms. Brownell is looking for who said that, she spots Eliza and Owen on the phone. After she takes it, she sees a picture of graffiti while the two try to claim it was a painting they did for school. She then tells Chris, Eliza, and Owen that she will be keeping a very close eye on them. While Eliza says in relief that they were lucky she didn't swipe, the three plan a devious senior prank and just then, Ms. Brownell's phone rings. Chris tells her that she broke her rule of not having phones in class, and Ms. Brownell disproves it and sends the three to the front row, while also feeling bad for having to send Arthur to the back row.

In the hallway, Ms. Brownell meets up with Principal Thompson and he tells her that he will send the staff to look for suspicious activity if needed. As he tells her that last year the three graffitied a building, Ms. Brownell sees a can of spray paint in one of their hands. While Ms. Brownell is leaving, Arthur comes up to her and asks her if there is any extra credit, but he gets interrupted while she walks away. One of the classmates calls him a dork, making Arthur sad.

Chris then immediately hides the spray paint in his bag after spotting Ms. Brownell coming up to them. Ms. Brownell tells them she saw the spray paint and that she has no problems with calling the police and getting them arrested for vandalism. After she asks Chris what's in his backpack, he pulls out a water bottle trying to lie to Ms. Brownell in order to not get arrested. Just then, the school bell rings and everyone goes home. At the same time, Eliza hides the spray paint in her pocket and the three run away planning their prank.

Ms. Brownell spies the three from behind a car and she overhears Chris inviting Eliza and Owen over to his house for the plan. She immediately gets in her car and begins following them. She hides behind their car and spots the three setting up a paper on the grass and spray painting it. She pulls out her phone and immediately texts Principal Thompson that she knows who it is. However, just as she is about to take a picture of them, Principal Thompson calls her and the three hear the ringtone. They assume that Ms. Brownell is crazy, just not that crazy. As a result, Owen tells them that the janitor Mike lets them in anytime, and plans for them to come to the school tomorrow night. They all go inside his house as Ms. Brownell takes their bag and pulls out a spray paint receipt.

As she runs to her car, she is immediately stopped by Ms. Matthews. She asks her if Chris did something and that she is terrible at reading e-mails, and Ms. Brownell nervously tries to disprove it and takes out a pencil in order to make an excuse that Chris left something in his classroom. Ms. Matthews finds it suspicious that a teacher wouldn't come all the way there to get something one student left out, but she thanks Ms. Brownell for doing so.

At Principal Thompson's office, Ms. Brownell gives Principal Thompson the spray paint receipt and he asks her where she got it. Ms. Brownell says it fell out of one of the student's pockets. Principal Thompson claims that they are doing a home improvement project besides the receipt. Principal Thompson suggests to her to bring him more concrete evidence so he can know what they're up to.

This night, Chris, Eliza, and Owen are in black hoodies and masks. Chris tries to open the door, but it's locked. Owen reassures them that Mike will come soon and counts down from 3 as the door opens. However, just as the door opens, the three hear a bush rustling, not seeing Ms. Brownell hiding behind the bushes and spying on them. Ms. Brownell watches the three enter the school building before calling the police and reporting everything she saw. She then runs to the front entrance and tries to open the door, but it's locked. She tells Siri to text Principal Thompson and that she called the cops.

While sneaking in the school, one of the three students accidentally creates noise before immediately getting shushed. As they search their bags for the spray paint cans, the lights turn on and the cops arrive. They are forced to remove their masks and freeze just as Ms. Brownell and Principal Thompson arrive and join the cops. After one of the cops tell them that it's illegal to deface public property, Owen tells them that the janitor let them in. Ms. Brownell picks up a spray paint can, shows it to them and forces them to explain it. Eliza tries to prove it as a surprise. Ms. Brownell sees the giant paper in Chris' hand and then snatches it away.

However, just as she sees it, it was, in fact, a surprise, with text reading "THANK U from class of 2022". Principal Thompson is amazed on how they drew it, seeing it as something beautiful he had never seen in years. Because of this, Ms. Brownell tries to get the cops to arrest the three, but one of the cops tells her they can't do anything for her as the janitor let them in. Principal Thompson takes the paper and gives them to the three as they cheer happily. They then begin to tape the paper on the wall. Just as Ms. Brownell is trying to get them arrested, everyone hears a loud pop coming from the distance. The cops, Ms. Brownell and Principal Thompson leave the three to stay and rush to check since it came from a classroom filled with balloons and strings, and...

It turns out, Arthur was the culprit all along. As he takes off his mask and puts on his glasses, Ms. Brownell is shocked since he is a straight A student and he would never do such a horrendous act. Arthur explains that he did it because everyone made fun of him and called him a nerd, teacher's pet, etc. so he wanted to do something to show that he isn't lame. Afterwards, Ms. Brownell apologizes to the three and the cops leave. Principal Thompson then plans for everyone including him to go home and have a good night.

However, as Ms. Brownell pulls a string on a balloon, the balloon pops and water falls on her head, as the balloons, in fact, are water balloons. Arthur is really scared and he asks Ms. Brownell if that's a no on his extra credit, to which Ms. Brownell responds with a no. She then angrily forces Arthur to leave and Principal Thomas orders Arthur to report to his office immediately as the episode ends.

Errors[]

  • The title is misleading because the episode is more about Mrs. Brownell accusing three of her students of planning a senior prank. Also, only Arthur regrets breaking into the school.
  • Principal Thompson claims to have heard about some students planning a senior prank, but Arthur plans it alone.
    • The principal could have been talking about Chris, Eliza and Owen acting suspicious.
  • Chris, Eliza and Owen should have seen Mrs. Brownell spying on them when she was hiding behind Chris' car.
