PLOT[]
The episode opens where Ms. Wilson announces to students to be prepared for the exam, until Samantha shows up to class 30 minutes late. Ms. Wilson then reprimands Samantha for not bringing her book, showing up late to class, and not taking a shower. (Since Samantha has not been taking a shower, she smells like stinky cheese.)
In the hallway, Samantha gets confronted by the teacher for her lack of performance and threatens to call in and tell both her principal and mom if something like this happens again. Despite Samantha’s pleas, Ms. Wilson sternly gives her one more chance and reminds her that she needs to be in class on time with her book and take a shower. Samantha apologizes and leaves school.
At the gas station, Samantha came up to her mother (who is a single parent) and explained that she got in trouble in school today. She started to cry as Samantha’s mom comforted her. Unexpectedly, Ms. Wilson shows up and talks to her mother about the problem Samantha is dealing with. The mother explains her story about how poor she and Samantha had been and tells the teacher why her late status and being unprepared for her period classes (except gym) is not her fault. (An example --shown in Samantha's mom's story-- is that she uses her credit card/debit card to buy food. And the reason why she --Samantha-- does not have her textbook is because her mom isn't able to buy it for her.) Ms. Wilson apologizes and doesn't know what she and Samantha had been going through. Samantha accepted her apology as the teacher volunteers to help fill up gas for Sam’s mom's car. Ms. Wilson then offers Samantha and her mother to stay at Ms. Wilson’s house. At first, they refused, but they happily accepted their offer to have a new home. Ms. Wilson hugs and rubs Samantha's belly. Now Samantha and her mother are living with Ms. Wilson until they (Samantha and her mother) have a new house.
